Author Topic: Please welcome Town Called Dobson!  (Read 13327 times)

SpinZone has a new member, everyone! Please welcome Town Called Dobson to our illustrious lineup!

TCD is a quirky and prolific strip, with characters who look like Fisher-Price toys but speak the truth. It's also the home of the running storyline "Howl Qaeda," which is funny and very creepy at the same.

TCD is, like Monkey Law, a member of Left 'Toon Lane and frequently can be found at Comic Kos. He does one strip a day, people. That's right. One strip, every day. Around here, that's like running a marathon. Also, it's written by someone named "Storm Bear," who doesn't seem to have a real name. How cool is that?

I encourage all poli-comic aficionados to give Town Called Dobson a looksee, I guarantee you'll find something to tickle your funnybone.

Welcome, S. Bear!  I've been a fan of TCB for a couple of years and am happy to have it here.

Oh, no, another dangerous comix whose entire archives need to be read.  Wink

http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/aboutcomics.html  is another one worth reading, though usually a bit outside Spinzone focus.

Storm....  Is there a reason why in the strip graphics, you've retained "All rights reserved", despite adopting a Creative Commons license and icon, with fairly liberal noncommercial by-nc-nd 2.5 CC reuse limited license terms?  Why not the usual CC "Some Rights Reserved"?

Some of those strips could likely get published in IF Journal of Spiritual Exploration.  If you're interested, I can plant a suggestion with the editors and publishers, who over the last decade have been the principals behind Paganet News.

On the strip, it is like that at the request of some of the print newspapers that syndicate the strip who absolutely do not understand CC. They insist on the language before they publish. It is a good thing instead of just ripping it off. I do have the circle CC and that has worked well but my solution isn't perfect.

If it is any consolation, when my hard drive and motherboard crapped out a couple of weeks ago, I barely got two strips out that week!
